Welcome May!

The weather today is pretty gross. Hopefully the sun will decide to come out after hiding for 2 whole days. It's May so bring on the warm weather. I just paid my tuition for the nurse aide program and I've already ordered my books! 19 days and counting. I am truly thankful for everyone who reads my blog and deals with me talking about school all the time. It means a lot. I like to talk about for two reasons; One, because I hope to inspire other people to go and for the ones that went and quit to return. And two, because I'm proud of myself. I could be wasting my money on rent, alcohol, shopping and other things, but I'm spending it on my education.      Education is important to me for many reasons. My father dropped out of high school but luckily back then, you didn't need a high school diploma or GED to flip burgers at McDonalds like now. My father is actually a very successful person. He started working with the city 30+ years ago and sti...

4 days!

On April 8, I will be registering for the lecture part of the nurse aide program! I am so excited! This semester has went by fast and I'm sure becoming an aide will too. I will be going to lecture and clinical on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. I have plenty of money in my savings to cover all of my expenses.      The only issue I've been thinking about is using math to do certain calculations. I'm not good at math at all. At work I have a handy dandy calculator to use in all situations where I have to calculate things. I hope the type and usage of math isn't too hard. Words cannot describe how excited I am for this though. This is all I have been thinking about since I went to the info session months ago. My parents support my decision and so does my boyfriend. Now it is just up to me to get it done!      As for this weekend coming up, I'm going to be having a yard sale Saturday in hopes...

Road Trip!

The idea to take a road trip randomly popped into my head after my boyfriend kept complaining about how he never gets to travel and go to different places. I thought "neither do I" quietly to myself. So with that said, I thought of a warm, sunshine bearing place in America that we could travel to...Florida. My mom has talked about how she went to Pensacola Beach before. She says it was beautiful, warm and so on. So I thought, why not? Last night I created my vacation jar to throw spare change and dollar bills into. My goal is to save $1500 and for my boyfriend save $1500 just so we have plenty of money to spend and cover us if we need it.      Before we go, I am going to have the auto shop look over my entire car and check all fluids so that if something needs to be fixed, I can have it fixed before we leave. We haven't set an exact date yet since we are no where the amount of money we need to go, but that will come soon enough. We will need...
